Purposeful Design's Life-Changing Mission
Advance! is a school designed to not only equip individuals with vital employment skills but also to invite them to imagine a new life of stability built on a foundation of satisfying and financially enabling work. Advance! extends beyond traditional education—it's about broadening perspectives, revealing possibilities, and giving hope in an otherwise bleak world. The role of our instructors at Advance! is integral to the student’s ultimate success. Our aim is to have 70%-80% of the classes taught by volunteer instructors. Why? Advance! is not just about learning content and passing a test, it is about life change. Doing a new thing. We believe this comes from meeting people who inspire you, care about you, and believe that you can indeed become new. This is the invitation. Advance! is growing and now serving 350 students a year- so we need you! We need your experiences, stories, smile, and “Hi my name is… it's nice to meet you.” You can change the lives of our students! We have made volunteering as an instructor an easy process. There is no need to commit to a fixed teaching schedule. Select the classes you want to teach based on your availability, from once every few months to several times a week. Each class is 45 minutes long and the curriculum is delivered via an 8th grade level PowerPoint presentation. Classes fall within 4 broad topics: Faith, Good Worker Skills, Job Preparation, and Personal Development. Furthermore, sign-up is easy through the instructor page of our website and classes are posted months in advance, no pun intended. We believe our instructors are truly the driving force behind the life change we see here at Advance! and can't wait for you to join the team! IF YOU ARE READY TO ENGAGE WITH ADVANCE!
